Nazra for Feminist Studies invites you to attend a lecture by Researcher Julie Pruzan-Jørgensen , Researcher at the Danish Institute for Internatioanl Studies, to discuss her research “Islamic Women's Activism in the Arab World” which was published on February 2012. The lecture will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 6 pm at Nazra for the Feminist Studies, 44 Talaat Harb Street, 8th Floor.
Researcher Julie Pruzan-Jørgensen, holds a doctorate in Middle Eastern Studies has a number of research in the region. She specialized in the study of contemporary politics in the Middle East and North Africa, authoritarianism, democracy and political liberalization in the region, political Islam in relation to Women's rights, and the activity of Islamic Women "Islamic Feminism."
The lecture will discuss the research of Dr. Jørgensen "Islamic Women's Activism in the Arab World" done in Jordan, Egypt and Morocco. The research discusses the potential and challenges of external actors to enable Islamic activists in the Arab world, especially after the Arab spring.
