North Cairo Primary Court issued a verdict today on 14 December 2016 confirming the asset freeze of Lawyer and Woman Human Rights Defender (WHRD) Azza Soliman - the Founder and Head of Board of Trustees for the Center for Egyptian Women’s Legal Assistance (CEWLA) - and her law firm “Lawyers for Justice and Peace” (LJP), and postponed the verdict issuance of the investigative judge’s request for freezing the assets of Feminist and WHRD - Mozn Hassan - Founder and Executive Director of Nazra for Feminist Studies and the association to 11 January 2017. This comes within the context of Case 173 for 2011 commonly known as the “NGO Foreign Funding Case”.
